Since 4 December 2018 (Law no. 132), anyone applying for Italian citizenship must demonstrate an adequate knowledge of the Italian language at B1 level or above, according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
The CILS UNO-B1 Cittadinanza is specifically designed for candidates who need official language certification for citizenship purposes. The exam is divided into four sections: listening, reading and language use, writing, and speaking. It is a shorter and more focused version of the standard B1 exam.
At Italiano con Manisha, we offer preparation 1:1 courses for the CILS B1 Citizenship examination. These courses provide in-depth training across all the skills assessed in the exam.
Students work with past papers to familiarise themselves with the structure and identify common challenges, while receiving targeted guidance on how to approach each section effectively.

Our CILS B1 Cittadinanza preparatory course run for 5 weeks, 2 hours per week, and are offered either online or in-person (in London only).
Candidates must already be at a level no lower than B1 when starting the course.
